Nick Young on former teammates — Bynum, Turner

Lakers forward Nick Young spent all of last season playing in Philadelphia, along with Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. Andrew Bynum was also there, though he never played in a game.

After the Lakers held shoot around at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday, ahead of their only visit to Indy, Young talked about his former teammates — calling them each “my guy.”

“I actually only played with him one time last year and that was in practice,” he said. “He went to work, too. Bynum’s my guy. He’s going to do Bynum, regardless of what anybody says. He’s going to be Bynum everyday.”

And what is that?

“You never know,” he said chuckling. “When I was with him, he had the crazy hair and all of that. Somebody that wears his hairdo like on national TV and not care what people say, he’s going to be him.”

Young thought highly of the Pacers move last week to acquired Turner and Allen. Turner will make his Pacers debut tonight.

“Evan’s a great asset,” said Young. “I think they moved up big with Evan. I always liked Evan’s all-around game.”

“Off the court, he’s a different dude. He’s a guy without a filter. Some people think about things they say, he doesn’t. But that’s my guy. He’s going to be big for Indiana I believe so. He’ll help them out big and they got a real opportunity here to try to bring that ‘ship home.”
