Sloan Explains Frequent “I’m Up” Tweet

If you follow recently signed Pacers guard Donald Sloan on twitter, you’ve likely noticed that his tweets are repetitive. Nearly every morning, the 25-year-old sends out the same six-character tweet: I’m Up

“I’m up and at it,” said Sloan of its meaning. “Whenever I wake up, I send that out.”

As for the origin: ”I saw a guy off of 30 Rock and he said it for like a year straight. That’s all he tweeted – ‘I’m up’ – every morning he got up. I was like, ‘I’ll take that,’ and then I started doing it. And other people I know are starting to do it now. It’s just — I’m up, starting the day. Get it going.”

If you’d like a daily reminder to enjoy each day and make the most of it, follow Sloan for his positive message — and the occasional basketball tweet.
