All-Star Paul George Takes Care of Pacers Employees

Indy sure has a good one in All-Star Paul George. After he wrapped up his first appearance in the star-studded event over the weekend, George wanted to do something for all the Pacers employees behind the scenes that spend countless hours helping the players, promoting the team, and giving back to the community.

George took care of every one of the nearly 200 full-time employees at Pacers Sports & Entertainment. When employees arrived at their desk on Thursday, they had an addressed letter as well as an autographed poster signed by George (as seen above).

That’s not all.

Each employee is also receiving four tickets to the Golden State game on Feb. 26. 10 random winners will receive courtside seats and be invited to morning shootaround to take a photo with George.

For a 22-year-old, who hasn’t even completed his third season as a professional, George is mature beyond his years. He’s a guy both the Pacers and the city of Indianapolis have to be proud to call their own.

All-Star player. All-Star guy.

Read his letter to employees below:

The first 2 ½ years representing the Indiana Pacers has been an unbelievable experience. I arrived in 2010 as a 20-year old kid from Palmdale, California, and now feel like Indiana is my home. I never realized just how many people it takes to run an NBA franchise. After living it first-hand and benefiting from the great people at PS&E, I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

This past weekend, I was blessed to represent the Pacers in the 2013 All-Star Game. It was an honor being selected to the squad and an even bigger honor helping show the NBA that the Pacers are for real. It was definitely a fun time, something I’ll never forget and if I can help it, I will never miss another All-Star weekend again.

Now, the focus returns to winning basketball games. With 28 games left until the Playoffs, we all have a lot of work to do. I know that you make sacrifices in your personal life to make it possible for my teammates and me to do what we do every game night. Believe me, I notice all that you do.

This year, it was cool getting tickets to provide to the community as part of the Gold Swagger Surprise. On the flight from Houston to Indianapolis, I had a thought and wanted to show my thanks to the employees in some way. So here it is: The Ticket Sales staff is going to load four tickets in your account for the game against Golden State on February 26. But if you know me, I wanted to make sure to put the “PG” twist on it. So, as part of the #PaulStar Surprise, ten random PS&E employees will receive their tickets in the courtside location. Plus, those same employees will get to come down after shoot-around on February 26 for a photo with me on the Main Court. To find out if you’re one of the ten lucky fans, check your online account after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Last thing before I go, I have one more surprise and it’s my personal favorite. Please enjoy the commemorative poster signed by me as a THANK YOU for always having my back! I’ll continue to represent the Pacers with pride and strive to bring bigger and better things to Indiana.

Thanks Pacers Family,

Paul George
