Hibbert, Plumlee Join Parks and Recreation Set in Indy
Many members of the NBC show “Parks and Recreation” were in Indianapolis Monday to film scenes for a few upcoming episodes. They asked Roy Hibbert, who has already made two appearances on the show, to join in once again.
In its fifth season, the NBC comedy is based on the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Ben Schwartz, now good friends with Hibbert, plays the character Jean-Ralphio, who on the show is best buds with Tom Haverford (played by comedian Aziz Ansari).

The scene has been in the works for a while, according to Hibbert, and he was excited to join the crew on set. This time, he had rookie Miles Plumlee come along. When Hibbert was a rookie, he explained, Jeff Foster took him under his wing so he has done the same with Plumlee. Although he didn’t have a speaking role, Plumlee, an Indiana native, had a ton of fun seeing the crew of a major show perform their craft.

By no surprise, it was actor Rob Lowe who announced to the world via Twitter, that he and other members of the show were in town for a shoot at St. Elmo’s, a staple restaurant in downtown Indianapolis.
Both Hibbert and Plumlee emphasized that their focus is on the season, but they smiled wide when talking about their experience with the show for a few hours.
Later Monday, the “Parks and Recreation” crew went over to Lucas Oil Stadium to film another scene.
